Mr. J.H. Morton, M.Ed.

Executive Dean

Mr. and Mrs. Morton have two married daughters and three granddaughters. In addition to the United States, they have lived in Egypt, Sudan, Kenya, and Israel/Palestine. Mr. Morton’s educational experience includes serving as the academic dean at Nile Valley Academy, a P-8 international school that was in Khartoum, Sudan. He also delivered professional development for teams and educators everywhere they’ve lived plus other countries such as the Comoros Islands, Zanzibar, and Mauritania. He was a member of the school board for the Jerusalem School in Bethlehem.

Mr. Morton has two bachelor’s degrees: Music/Bible from Central Bible College and Music Education from Missouri State University. He has a Master of Education in Curriculum Development from Southwestern AG University. He is currently in the final stages of a Doctorate in Curriculum, Instruction, and the Science of Learning from the University at Buffalo (SUNY).

Mr. Morton has a passion for facilitating learning, growth, and development. He is a conscientious blend of insightful futurist, cognitive analyst, and creative synthesist who consistently produces. He loves Jesus and has committed his whole life to following wherever He may lead. He is honored to serve the TCKIA students and families as well as partner with the amazing administration, teachers, and staff.

Upper Grades Principal

Mr. Ferguson became a third culture kid at age 5 when his parents moved to Jordan. Over the next 13 years he lived in Jordan, Egypt, Belgium, and the United States. He always attended international schools with students from all over the world, aside from when he attended public schools for 5th and 8th grades in the U.S.

He attended Evangel University in Missouri where he studied biology and secondary education. In 2002 he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and returned to Evangel several years later to study IQ testing and earn a Master of Education in School Counseling.

Since 1999, Mr. Ferfuson has worked at camps and retreats every year to support TCKs going through life transitions. Since 2012 he has worked with youth experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges in behavioral hospital and group home settings. He is currently residing in Missouri where he works with foster care and with TCK International Academy.

He is excited to be a part of TCK International Academy and work alongside the teachers and staff in serving TCKs and their families!

Lower Grades Principal

Mrs. Arabis and Tom, her husband, spent over 30 years in Portugal serving in theological training institutions as teachers and administrators. While there they raised their six kids and navigated many different forms of education: from homeschool, to private Christian schools, to public schools. Today their children are grown and married and all have finished college, including three who have their master’s degrees. Mrs. Arabis and Tom have nine grandkids living all over the U.S.

Over 18 years ago, they developed an online ministry that serves the Portuguese Christian community by offering online training in various synchronous and asynchronous formats. Along the way Mrs. Arabis finished a Master of Education in Administration. She chose administration because she sees the value of helping others achieve their best. As the principal for K-6, she is excited to serve with the TCKIA team to offer a unique online learning experience.

TCKIA Senior Instructional Designer, Curriculum, Admission, Accreditation and Records Support

Dr. Stafford serves as a Dissertation Chair & Online Associate Professor in Instructional Design and Technology at St. Thomas University. He also serves as a Dissertation Chair for Abilene Christian University and as an Adjunct Professor at OKWU and the University of Arizona, Global Campus. He holds a Doctorate in Instructional Design for Online Learning and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. Dr. Stafford is a recognized expert in the area of instructional design in online learning and has over 20 years of experience in educational leadership and curricula/course development.

TCKIA Registrar, Enrollment Specialist and Records Custodian

Mrs. Stafford presently serves as a Client Service Manager for RU Institute. She works with Educational clients helping to manage administrative projects that include admissions, enrollment, records, transcript audits, online curriculum management and support, and distance educational policy and procedure. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries. Having been hired by both schools and nonprofit organizations, Victoria has over 25 years of experience in Office Management and Event Coordination.

Administrative Coordinator to Dean/School Secretary

Ms. Morales became a third culture kid at age 10 and lived in Costa Rica and Panama. While living there, she mostly attended international Christian schools and did some homeschooling. She attended public school when she lived in the U.S. during 9th and 10th grades. She attended Evangel University and graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After graduating from university, she worked at a Head Start program. She has worked the TCK summer program and retreats multiple times and loves working with other third culture kids. She is excited to be a part of TCK International Academy!
