Some Ignitia electives (for 3rd – 12th grades only) are geared toward students with specific needs such as advanced U.S. history and advanced calculus, and all courses are Bible-based and geared toward helping students build a Christian worldview that will stay with them throughout adulthood.
Since our Ignitia curriculum (3rd – 12th grades) is modular, other electives can be customized based on a student’s needs. TCK International Academy is designed to be able to accommodate almost every academic need.
TCK International Academy has also designed and created 1-year courses for both Art and Physical Education electives. Each course will be taken once during each grade block: Kindergarten – 2nd grade, 3rd – 5th grades, 6th – 8th grades, and 9th – 12th grades. Courses are typically assigned during the year of initial student enrollment. Lessons include text instruction and supporting video teaching. Lessons are paced to parallel 3rd – 12th grade Ignitia modular curriculum. Art and PE courses are part of TCK International Academy’s ongoing fine arts enrichment program and complete, balanced educational approach.
Dual Enrollment Option*
With the start of 2019-2020 school year, dual enrollment will be offered through partnerships with Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) and Evangel University (EU). Dual enrollment will only be available for juniors and seniors who have academically met standards. Prior to the start of classes, juniors and seniors will receive a form, if approved, to participate in dual enrollment. It will then be up to the student and their family to make the decision to enroll and to follow the next steps with the individual universities.
All costs (i.e. courses, registration, books, etc.) will be in addition to the TCK International Academy annual tuition and will be paid directly to the individual universities. It is important to note, that when students enroll for any dual enrollment course, it is a college-level course and students are doing a year’s work of high school work in one semester. Students are permitted to enroll in up to two courses for their junior year and four courses for their senior year. It is recommended students discuss their schedules, routines and future plans before making the final decision to enroll as it will be rigorous coursework.
